November 23, 2015 – Atlanta, GA. – Just in time for Thanksgiving and black Friday shopping, Special Needs Communities has launched the very first app of its kind. Individuals and families with special needs and disabilities are now able to find special needs friendly places and resources right from their phone. With the free app, users can search for a range of places from a speech therapist to restaurants, bowling alleys, movie theaters, churches and even cities. Users can also share their experiences and photos of places they visit so that others can learn more about these places before they visit them.
Lindsey Turner, Founder of Special Needs Communities is beyond excited about this announcement, “This has been a concept in the making for over a year and we feel we have put together an amazing product which will make life easier for so many people. Our entire mission is to make sure everyone is treated with love and acceptance and with the launch of our app people can now find the places who feel the same as we do.”
Special Needs Communities educates cities, businesses, churches and organizations to better serve their citizens and customers with special needs. Special Needs Certified places are listed on a social networking site, www.specialneedscommunities.com and on the Special Needs Communities app, where individuals and families can search and find special needs friendly places. Thanks to this unique and cost-effective training, people with special needs feel more comfortable going out to church, shop, eat and enjoy activities in their communities.
“Being able to work on something which has so much meaning and intention to benefit society has become one of my favorite accomplishments”, said Lance Butler, Lead Developer at Special Needs Communities .
Special Needs Communities has plans to add more places to their app and this is where everyone can help. Once you download the app you can share an experience and then that place is added to special needs certified’s website and app. “We want to unite communities and create more environments where everyone, regardless of their abilities, is treated with love and acceptance. The more people who are using our app the faster we can achieve this vision”, said Turner.
Special Needs Communities is a social enterprise focused on uniting communities and creating environments where everyone, regardless of their abilities, is treated with love and acceptance.
